GPRS
The GPRS Abis/BTS server
allows to simulate a suite of BTSs and to generate a mobile population with
two software modules in conformity with the test purpose.
The first module includes only the RLC/MAC protocol layer and a simulation/test
function of the user data, which works at an higher protocol layer. This module
can communicate with an S4 module that works as the Gb interface.
The second module completes the protocol stack with the LLC and SNDCP protocol
layers and includes a simulation/test module of the user data which operates
at IP level.
The functional decomposition of the protocol stack and the service of the
layers' primitives is implemented in conformity with the GSM technical specifiations
together with some extentions related to particular system test requirements.
For this model the client application must manage the Mobility Management,
the Session Management and theGSMS functions, and it must synchronise the
simulation/test functions of the user data on the LSU+.
